Carlysle “Carl” Emerson Turk, age 77, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away, Thursday, December 26, 2013 after an extended illness.
Carl was born April 8, 1936 in Westville, Pennsylvania, to Arnold and Pearl Turk.
In February, 1961, he married the former Phyllis Mae Ludwig in Dubois, Pennsylvania. Carl enjoyed many hobbies including oil painting, gardening, and hunting. He was an accomplished musician, playing several instruments including the guitar. Carl was an avid fisherman as well, but his greatest joy was his wife Phyllis who preceded him in death in 1999.
Family was the most important part of Carl’s life, and he is survived by three daughters, Billie Jo Sturgeon of Erie, PA, Denise Demarco of Erie, PA, and Tracy Pytlarz of Erie, PA, two sons, Michael Turk of Pleasantville, PA, and Richard Turk of Reva, VA, sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, his sisters Barbara Clark of Meadville, PA, Patricia Morris of Mill Village, PA, and Jean Pelletier of North Port, FL and several nieces and nephews.
A private ceremony will be held on a future date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2115 W 38th St, Erie, PA 16508.
