Carl Schaffer

Carl H. Schaffer, age 87, formerly of Erie, passed away April 26, 2016 in Palm Harbor, FL.

He was born on April 18, 1929 in Erie, son of the late Ernest and Hilma (Lohse) Schaffer.

Carl graduated from Millcreek High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as an Electronics Technician at LORD Corporation. He was a member of the Erie Elk Lodge #67 and the NRA.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and scuba diving and he especially loved building model tall ships.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. (Faust) Schaffer and a son, Eric P. Shaffer.

Carl is survived by his daughter Carla J. Schaffer and his grand dog Bailey of Palm Harbor, FL; a brother Donald P. Schaffer (Pat) of Texas; a sister Marilyn Hill of Maryland and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service in Section 1 of Laurel Hill Cemetery 4523 Love Rd, Erie, PA 16506 on Thursday May 12 at 11:00 a.m.
