Carl Ferris

Carl R. Ferris, age 96, of Millcreek passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at Manor Care Erie (formerly Twinbrook).

He was born in Erie, on March 4, 1920, the son of the late Roy and Rose Coch Ferris.

Mr. Ferris graduated from the Erie Technical High School and then served during World War II with the U. S. Army Air Corp. He retired as a crane operator at Erie Forge and Steel where he had been employed for 31 years.

He was a member of Lakewood Methodist Church.

Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife Velma R. “Bonnie” Metzler Ferris.

He is survived by a nephew Mark Vommoro and niece Julie Dingus and their families.

Friends may call at the Burton West Lake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Monday from 4:00 until the time of the service there at 6:00 pm.

Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
