Carl F. "Ducky" Bolla, 83, formerly of Millcreek Twp., died Friday, January 30, 2015, at Ball Pavilion at Brevillier Village. He was born May 13, 1931, in Erie, son of the late Charles and Frances Leibert Bolla. A 1950 graduate of Tech Memorial High School, he was a finish carpenter working for Ajax Lumber Mill, Erie Burial Case Co., Lakeland Construction, McGurn Construction, Heald Construction, and most recently for Contractor's Service and Supply, retiring in 1996. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserves retiring in 1991. Carl was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 66 where he served as Governor in the early 1970's, and enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lois S. King Bolla; a daughter, Cheryl A. Filley and husband Karl of Girard; a son, Michael J. Bolla of Erie; two sisters, Delores Taccone and Kathleen Bolla both of Harborcreek; two grandchildren, Emily Stevens and husband Jason and David Filley, all of Girard; a great-grandson, Carson Stevens of Girard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Richard and Arthur Bolla, preceded him in death.
Friends may call Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle Street. A service will be held there Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David L. McIlvried of St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating. Entombment will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by Erie Crawford County Burial Detail.
