C. Lewis Sheasley of Erie, PA went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 26th, 2022. His passing was peaceful, at home in the presence of his loving wife and son, Allen, who was his primary caregiver along with the Visiting Nurses Hospice Care staff.
Lew was born in Flemington, PA, January 27, 1934, a son to Harry L. and Mary E. Laubach Sheasley. The family moved later to Wilkes-Barre, PA where he attended and graduated from Elmer Meyers High School. He then attended Penn State University, where he met his future bride, Ruth Allen. Lew entered the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, KY and they were married in the spring of 1955 before Lew was shipped off to Germany at U.S. Army bases near Heidelberg. After his service he lived in New Castle, PA and received a Bachelor of Business Accounting degree from Youngstown State University. He worked for G.M. Fisher Body, one of the A.B. Dick Co. Distributors, and Arnold Business Forms. The family moved to Erie in 1967, at which time Lew founded 2 family businesses, Accurate Design Systems and later Accuprint. Lew was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. He was a member of Erie Sertoma Club, and a lifetime member of the Erie Maennerchor Club.
He enjoyed photography, RV Camping, ice cream, and was a member of various bowling and bocce leagues. He was also a handyman, fixing or repairing many items throughout his life.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sisters, Grace Wilson and Rebecca VanDevender.
Lew is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth Allen Sheasley and two sons, Allen E. and J. Richard Sheasley.
Friends may call on the family on Tuesday, September 6,2022 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, Inc. Downtown, 602 W 10th St, Erie. The family will also receive visitors on Wednesday, September 7th from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service celebrating his life at11 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W 7th St, Erie, PA.
