Bryon Filby

Bryon K. Filby age 58, of Lake City, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Erie on March 10, 1956 a son of Doris Ann Kubeja Menosky of Georgia and the late Howard Garth Filby.

Bryon graduated from McDowell High School in 1974 and then went on to serve in the United States Army.

He worked at GE for over 19 years, most recently as an inspector.

Bryon loved hunting with all of his kids, fishing and spending time with his family. He was an excellent welder and his three sons even followed him in the trade. He loved his dogs.

In addition to his father Howard, he was preceded in death by his step father, Ralph Menosky; a sister, Ann Marie Angerer; a brother in law, Homer Clough; and father in law, Gerald P. McCallion.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary McCallion Filby; three sons, Michael McCallion and his wife Wendy of Erie, Nicholas Filby and Christopher Filby both of Lake City; a daughter, Emily Filby of Colorado; three grandchildren, Holley, Serenity, and Ava; two sisters, Sandy Clough of West Springfield and Fawn Angerer of Jamestown, NY; three brothers, Michael Filby of LaCombe, Louisiana, Terry Filby of Phoenix, AZ and Ben Filby of Jacksonville, FL; and a mother in law, Josephine McCallion of Erie. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home 525 Main Street East, Girard on Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m and 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.
