Bruno Caserta

Bruno A. Caserta, age 67, of Girard, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at his residence.

He was born in Montenero Val Cocchiara, Italy on October 15, 1948, a son of the late Oreste and Lucia Caserta.

Bruno immigrated to Erie at the age of 9. He did his undergraduate studies at Gannon University. He also received two masters degrees and a principals certificate from Gannon and Edinboro University. Bruno spent his career as an English teacher with the Erie School District.

He was passionate about music, architecture and above nothing else, his family. He met his wife at graduate school. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this August.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernesto Caserta.

Bruno is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Black Caserta; three daughters, Julie McKean and her husband Matt of MI, Laurie Caserta of CT and Katie Caserta and her husband,Eric Scheiwer of Edinboro; three grandchildren: Gabriel, Bella and Thaddeus McKean; three sisters, Clara Pede and her husband Clemente, Jane Caserta, and Antoinette Barboni and her husband, Livio; two brothers Vincent Caserta and his wife Carmela and Enio Caserta and his wife Armida. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

Services were private and held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard.
