Bonnie Strickland

Bonnie Jean Strickland, age 61, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was born in Erie, PA on March 11, 1952, the daughter of the late Flossie Crider Sharp and Frederick Scott Sharp.

She attended Academy High School and worked at General Electric for 25 years in Erie. Bonnie will be remembered for her love of the Lord, music, dancing, roller skating and taking long rides in the country. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and making people laugh. She will be remembered for her love of life, and her love of people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Maeola Sharp Carroll.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 42 years, Willie Strickland Sr.; her four children: Jerry Strickland of Erie, DeVona (Curtis) Pratt of Kissimmee, FL, Selena Strickland of Erie, and Willie Strickland, Jr. of Erie; her adopted sister Joyce (Larry) Thompson of Erie; and her siblings: Julius Edwards of Erie, Marjorie (Harmen) Marshall of Rochester, NY, Sonja Johnson of McKean, Joyce Battle of Erie, and Fredrick Sharp of Erie. She is further survived by 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family on Friday from 5-8pm at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road and attend a service there on Saturday at 10am in their All Faiths Chapel. Burial will follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
