Bonnie Ruff

Bonnie Jean Ruff, age 78, of Erie, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. She was born March 1, 1943 to the late Edward L. and Helen Johnson Ruff. Bonnie graduated with honors from East High School and was retired from U.E. Local 506 where she worked as an administrative professional for many years.

Bonnie loved her family and was first to donate for a good cause or school fund raiser.  She enjoyed good food, music, movies, word scrambles and ice cream and was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She was one of 10 children and enjoyed annual birthday lunches with her sisters and closest friends. Bonnie was known for her beautiful smile, spunk, honesty and enormous heart.

Affectionately known as “Gramma D” by her 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, Bonnie is survived by her children Richard Hampy II, Jeffrey Hampy and Lisa (Louis) Bruno; her siblings, Lynette Vannucci, Jim Ruff, Ray (Sally) Ruff, Gail (Louis) Cilladi, sister-in-law Sue Ruff and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie is preceded in death by her beloved Daughter, Lauri Frick, her siblings Barbara Ruff, Janice Stover, Jennifer Emerick, Karen Gaspard, and Edward Ruff II  and in-laws, Jackie Ruff, Phillip Vannucci, and James Stover.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all of her caregivers, especially her granddaughter Alyssa Brutto and the staff at Pleasant Ridge Manor.

Friends are invited to call on the family, Friday, March 4, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10^th Street, Erie. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
