Billie Sturgeon

Bille Jo Turk Sturgeon, 53, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed away, Wednesday, May 21, 2014 after an extended illness.

Billie Jo “Mom” was born May 8, 1961 in Dubois, Pennsylvania, to the late Carlysle and Phyllis Turk. Billie Jo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren of which there were 3. She was always surrounded by friends and family which she loved and counseled, never turning anyone in need away. She was loved by many.

Billie Jo was a mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend to many. You gave us all peace when our lives were stormy. Your words of wisdom and kindness were only surpassed by your selflessness. Your love knew no boundaries. We will miss you.

Billie Jo is survived by two daughters, Sienna Sturgeon of Erie, PA, and Jessica Schill of Erie, PA, two brothers, Michael Turk of Pleasantville, PA, and Richard Turk of Reva, VA, two sisters, Denise Demarco and Tracy Pytlarz also of Erie, PA, and three grandchildren, Cayden, Jonny, and Miley.

A private ceremony will be held on a future date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2115 West 38th Street, Erie, Pa. 16507. Arrangements were under the care of Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, Pa. 16502.
