Bill Vickers, Jr.

Bill Vickers, Jr. age 79, of Erie, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on May 9, 1944 a son of the late Bill, Sr. and Lelah Sweeney Vickers.

Bill graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in Elizabeth, PA and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh.

Bill owned and operated Vickers Painting and Wall Covering and the Mead’s Motel up until 2 weeks before his death.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on his boat the “R and R” and loved driving his 92’ Corvette Convertible which he was very proud of. Bill was a hard worker who loved to work and cherished spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his dogs, Chewy, Prince, Ginger, Snowy and Blue. Bill was also an avid Pittsburgh Pirate’s, Steelers and Penguins fan.

Bill was a member of the 11^th Ward Club in McKeesport, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Vickers, a sister, Judy Dellapenna, and a son-in-law, Bill Cramer.

HE is survived by his wife of 63 years and the love of his life, Joyce Thurston Vickers; 3 children, Kimberlee Cramer, Marcey Strom (Bob) and Billy Jay Vickers (Colleen); a sister, Eva Sieber; 8 grandchildren, Cara (Corey) Francis, William Cramer, Ryan Cramer, Chelsea (Ryan) Cooper, Weston Strom, B.J. (Dany) Vickers, Cody Vickers and Shelby (Lexi) Vickers; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. .

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, 3801 W. 26^th Street, on Thursday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service there on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
