Beverly Mckinley

November 25, 1937 — January 16, 2015

Beverly Ann (Fugate) McKinley, age 77, of Millcreek Township and formerly of Fairview, passed away on January 16, 2015 at Elmwood Gardens after a prolonged illness.

Born and raised in Millcreek Township on November 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Opal (Carner) Fugate. Bev was a graduate of McDowell High School. She had a strong Christian faith demonstrated by her years of dedication to the church including serving as Youth Director at Weis Library Methodist Church. Starting as a secretary for Alps Mfg., Bev later took over the office side of the plumbing business her husband started. Bev was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time outside working in her flower gardens. She was a devoted mother never missing a sporting event of her three children, winning the Fairview Sports Booster award with her husband in 1985.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Anderson and her brother, Kenneth E. Fugate.

Bev is survived by her husband and helpmate of 59 years, George E. McKinley (former Fairview Township Supervisor), a daughter, Tracy (Gerald) Ebert of Richmond, VA., sons Jeffrey (Lori) McKinley of Fairview and Matthew (Michelle) McKinley of Cranberry Township, PA., a sister, Berniece (Fugate) Clapper of McKean and a brother, Dwain (Cheryl) Fugate of Wattsburg. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Kendall and Grayson Lawrence and Olivia Ebert, and Isaac, Sarah, and Natalie McKinley and Isaac Ellis, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elmwood Gardens for the care they provided.

Friends may call at Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W 26th St. (at Powell Avenue)­­­­­­­­­­­ on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Monday from 2p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service on Tuesday at 1:00p.m. at Erie First Assembly of God Church 8150 Oliver Road, Erie, Pa 16509. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Erie City Mission, PO Box 407 Erie, PA 16512, Erie First Assembly of God, or First Alliance Church 2939 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16509.
