Beverly Baur

Beverly Peyton Baur entered her heavenly life on Friday, August 18, 2017, after passing peacefully at her home. Beverly was born on November 13, 1948, to the late Attorney Byron A. Baur and Gladys Perry Baur.

Miss Baur was a graduate of Academy High School and Edinboro University. She taught in the Fort LeBoeuf School District for 28 years at the Waterford Elementary School and later as the gifted and talented teacher for the school district. Beverly enjoyed taking her students on many creative journeys of discovery.

She was involved in the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and the I AM Sanctuary.

Beverly has the spirit of a Renaissance Master. She composed music and played numerous instruments. She excelled at the harp and piano. She loved sharing her music with others. She sang in choirs and choruses, entertained in nursing homes, and served as a therapeutic music volunteer with AseraCare Hospice. She presented educational programs on classical composers, and especially admired Franz Liszt. As an artist she painted beautiful pictures and was famous for her exquisite drawings of cathedrals and stained glass church windows.

She traveled to many countries and was very knowledgeable about art, culture, architecture, royalty, religion, and world history. She loved America and American History. She spent many hours a day praying for America and the world.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kent Perry Baur.

She is survived by: her brother, Attorney Douglas Baur and his wife, Sue; two nieces, Cynthia Gibson and Christie Peterson (and her husband, Charles); two great nieces, Zoe and Kya Peterson; and her only first cousin, Marcia McDowell. She is also survived by many beloved friends.

Join us for a memorial service in celebration of Beverly’s life, at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510, on Saturday, September 9, from 3:00 until the time of service at 4:00 until 5:00.
