Betty Yarbenet

Betty Mae McAvoy Yarbenet, formerly of Neiger Road, Girard PA, died April 3, 2022 at The Lodge, Carson City Nevada with her family by her side.

She was born in Salamanca, NY on October 30, 1921 daughter of the late James and Myrtle Bundy McAvoy.

She was a graduate of Academy High School.

She worked at Erie Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator, General Electric Company, and also was a substitute clerk for Erie School District.  She was Vice President and Historian for Northwest Congress P.T.A. and past president of Lincoln School P.T.A.  She enjoyed music, fine arts, gardening and was a world traveler.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Yarbenet in 1998, two infant daughters and her son, Gregory.

She is survived by Gregory’s wife, Elizabeth and a grandson, Sean Pierre Yarbenet (Anne).

Arrangements handled by Burton Funeral Home, Girard PA.

Private burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
