Betty Ann (Jablonowski) Stufft, of Millcreek township, passed away peacefully at age 70, on Friday, October 27, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of Ferdinand and Kordula Jablonowski, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Larry Stufft, in 2016, her first-born son, Timothy, in 2015, and her only American cousin, Dolores Ulecki, in 2014.
She was born in Dlugokaty, Poland. In 1956, Betty Ann, her mother and sister, emigrated to the U.S. to join their father, who had emigrated in 1949 under the sponsorship of (‘Uncle’) Stanley Ulecki.
Betty Ann is survived by three children, Mark Stufft of Florida, Michelle Hallinan and husband Todd of Connecticut, and Lori Sentker of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Olivia and Ella Sentker, and Lily and Joshua Hallinan. She is survived by her sister, Dolores Donor and her husband William of Millcreek Township. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews living in Poland, whom she visited in 2014. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews here in the U.S., including her Godchild, Patrick Donor, as well as his sister Jennifer Donor.
Upon graduating from St. Benedict Academy, Betty Ann worked as an office clerk for Prudential Insurance. In order to raise her four children, she paused her professional career to become a homemaker for over 20 years. She later returned to the workforce and held several roles through the years, including bookkeeping for the Elks club, where she retired from in 2016. She was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Church for over 39 years. Betty Ann also held the position of Director for two years at the Eastside Federation of Polish in Erie.
Besides being a wonderful, loving Mom and doting Babcia, she was an amazing cook. Betty Ann loved baking for her family and flower gardening at her home. She thanks the many family members, friends, and healthcare professionals who helped her throughout her yearlong battle. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th St. (at Powell Ave.), on Wednesday November 1st from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday November 2nd at 11 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 2801 W. 6th St., Erie, PA 16505. Burial to follow in Trinity Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Erie City Mission.
