Betty Radov

August 26, 1925 — March 12, 2013

Betty Radov, age 87 of Sarasota Florida and Erie, passed away Tuesday March 12, 2013 in Florida with Barney at her side.

She was born August 26th, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Bernstein Nusbaum.

Betty attended Case Western University and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Allegheny College.

She was a teacher, job developer, and worked with the Erie and Millcreek School Districts, and the St. Benedict Education Center.

Betty was an active member of three different congregations, Congregation B'rith Sholom where she served as program director and then president of Sisterhood, and Temple Anshe Hesed, and its sisterhood, Hadassah, both in Erie, Pa., and Beth Sholom in Sarasota, Florida, and the National Council of Jewish Women.

She was also a member of A.A.U.W., the Kahkwa Club, and was an avid golfer, bridge player, and mahjong.

Betty was interested in current events, politics, theater and travel. She was also very proud that people often said that she "never looked her age". She was also known as a good cook, and meticulous housekeeper.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Barney R. Radov, their four children: Lesley A. Radov and Stephanie Radov of Atlanta, Georgia, Barbara Radov of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Jay Radov of Owings Hills, Maryland, her son-in-law Paul Hirshfield and daughters-in-law Elaine Meizlish and Lisa Radov. She was also thrilled to have five wonderful grandchildren: Joshua, Michael, Diane, Daniel and Susan, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at C.B.S. Cemetery, with Rabbi Leonard Lifshen officiating.

Arrangements entrusted to Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th Street.
