Betty Hartman

Betty M. Hartman, age 88, of Millcreek, passed away at her home on Thursday March 20, 2014.

She was born in Buffalo, NY, on January 6, 1926, the daughter of the late Theodore and Esther Downing Barbour.

Betty graduated from Fosten Park High School and worked at Sears and Lord Corporation. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and served as the financial secretary there for 38 years.

Along with her parents Betty was preceded in death by her husband Bernard J. Hartman whom she married June 5, 1948 and a sister Nancy (James) Clear of Buffalo.

She is survived by two sisters, Jean (George) Kaminska, of Holland Patent, NY, and Sally (James) Walters, of Santa Cruz, CA; a brother, Theodore “Jack” Barbour, of Buffalo, NY and several nieces and nephews.

Services and burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery are private at the convenience of the family and are entrusted to the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street Erie PA 16506.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
