Betty Antolik

February 26, 1927 — May 24, 2018

Betty Jane (Adams) Antolik passed away peacefully Thursday, May 24 in her home surrounded by family. She was born on February 26, 1927 the daughter of the late George and Mary K. Adams.

Betty had her medical training in Buffalo, NY and worked as a private duty geriatric nurse for over 40 years. She was a great humanitarian and lover of all people. She was noted for her care for the poor, downtrodden, and elderly. Betty was a great story teller and loved to read. Playing the accordion and piano for her kids and grandchildren made her especially happy. She was also a great cook, she particularly loved making food that showcased her Slovak heritage.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Toby of 60 years, her beloved son Timmy, her sibling’s Pauline Adams, Christine McCullough, Mary Johnson, Margaret Leonheart, John Adams, and several nieces and nephews.

Betty is survived by her children Tom and Angie, and Mary Jane Carson, her grandchildren Andrea Zdaniewski (John), Ashlee Mook (Adam), Tyler, Pam Carson (Scott Martin), Susan Lipiec (Ben), A.J. (Emily), Emily Walsh (Shawn) and great-grandsons Drew, Dylan, Deke, Aden, Luke, Jacob, Declan, and John Andrew. She is also survived by siblings George, Raymond, Richard, and Dolores Adams, her dear friend Sally Boyarski, as well as David Carson and Shelly Antolik, and many nieces and nephews.

Betty will be deeply and sadly missed by her family and friends and she wanted to thank all of them for such wonderful memories.

Friends may call at Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St on Friday May 25, 2018 from 3:00pm-7:00pm and are invited to attend prayer services there Saturday at 9:15AM followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10:00AM in Saints Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church 3415 Wallace St. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Girard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LECOM Health Visiting Nurse Association of Erie County at 2253 West Grandview Blvd. Erie, PA 16506.
