Berneice Smith

Berneice L. (Wild Bill) Smith, Age 92, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at ManorCare Health Services.                            

She was born in Pelham, GA on June 18, 1925, a daughter of the late William and Ana Dydell Ryels, Sr. 

Berneice served many children as a foster grandparent for 19 years at the Gertrude Barber Center.  She was a devoted wife and mother who was feisty and stubborn and loved to sing and dance.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel A. Smith, Jr, and her                 sons, William B. Epps and Alexander B. Epps.

Berniece leaves to cherish her in memory, her children, Samuel A. Epps, Sr. (Shirley), Rose Hampton, and Richard Epps (Eva).  Further surviving are a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call on the family at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10^th St. on Tuesday,          May 8, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend Jessie Stovall presiding.
