Bernard Garczynski

Bernard “Benny” Garczynski, age 78, of Erie , passed away Sunday May 20, 2018 at Walnut Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Erie on May 14, 1940 son of the late Peter and Frances Sucharski Garczynski.

Benny was a group home resident of the Barber National Institute for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister in law, Rita M. Garczynski.

He is survived by a brother, Francis “Frank” Garczynski and a sister Rita Ann Garczynski, both of Erie and is further survived by 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

The family would like to say thank you to the staff at the Barber National Institute, and  especially Emily, and the staff at Lakeside Senior Center and Will and the staff at the Marcia Lane Residence.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26^th Street (at Powell Ave.) on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus Church 516 E. 13^th Street, Erie, PA 16503 at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
