Barbara Simos

Barbara Ann Simos age 59, of Millcreek, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her home.

She was born in Erie on February 25, 1955, a daughter of the late James Stephen and Betty Marie Beers Lipinski.

Barbara graduated from McDowell High School and then went on to work at Erie Ceramic Arts and for many years in the food service department for the Millcreek School District.

She was a member of the American Legion Post #773 Ladies Auxiliary.

Barbara enjoyed watching NASCAR especially the #24 car of Jeff Gordon, and watching movies. She especially loved spending time with the loves of her life, her husband, children and grandchildren and she will be greatly missed by them all.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a grandson, Xavier John Simos and a brother in law, Gus Simos.

She is survived by her husband, John Simos of Erie; a daughter, Stacey Wheeler and her husband David of Erie; a son, Sgt. Jonathan Simos U. S. Army and his wife Crystal of Colorado; four grandchildren, David and Amanda Wheeler and Nathan and Julianna Simos; four sisters, Marsha Trabold, Janet Craig, Cindy Rabbitt and Debbie Dedad; a brother, Gary Lipinski and a mother-in-law, Eugena Simos. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Saturday from 11:00 until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
