Barbara “Bobby” Crawford Osborn, age 103, of Erie, died on Tuesday March 28, 2023.  She was born on March 1, 1920 to Carl and Dorothea Tanssig Scott in Yonkers New York.

Bobby grew up in Pleasantville, NY graduating high school from Pleasantville High School.  She was the 3rd generation of her family to attend Wellesley College where she earned her BS in psychology.  She was also active in the Phi Beta Kappa sorority at this time.    She later did graduate work at Penn State Behrend and Edinboro.

Bobby was a certified public school psychologist and worked in the Erie School District, Children Services of Edinboro and the Criminal Court System in Erie.   She also volunteered her time in various capacities as Director of the Covenant Preschool, board member and president of Family and Child Service Agency for 13 years and board member of the Sarah Reed Children’s Home.    She was a founder of the local chapter of the Council on Adoptable Children and was a member and president of PEO Chapter X.   She volunteered at Hospice of Metropolitan Erie for 20 years and was a member of Junior League of Erie and the Carrie T. She had a significant impact on those she served.   She cared deeply about the causes and the people they touched.  Her education and intelligence, her dedication and work ethic, her humility and quiet strength made her a natural leader.  Her love for others was unconditional and she was loved by many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 61 years Robert W. Crawford, her second husband of 12 years Gordon A. Osborn, her son Andrew Crawford, her son-in-law Cy Wellman and a great grandson.
