Barbara (Barb) Ann (Rectenwald) Inman, age 81, a resident at Regency at South Shore, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 after an eighteen month battle with ALS.

She was a graduate of Academy High School and Villa Maria College. Barb worked and retired from the Erie School District, where she was an elementary school teacher. She was a devoted member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church and was very active in many groups and leadership there throughout her lifetime.

She was survived by her husband of 59 years, Gregory Inman; her three daughters, Sharon Inman, Susan Cessna (William), Carrie Steele (Jason), and son – Steven Inman (Kelli); five grandchildren, Makenna Inman (Reagan), Jessica Cessna (Jason), Mason Inman, Sophia Cessna, and Clara Steele; one brother, Thom Rectenwald as well as aunts (Barbara Swartz and Ann Miller) and many cousins, nieces and nephews and in laws.

Barb loved spending time with her family. Enjoyed traveling with her husband, favorite trips were to Las Vegas and cruises. She also loved to read, make puzzles, and watch game shows.

Through her battle with ALS and all of its challenges she rarely let it get to her and greeted everyone that walked in her door with a smile. She appreciated all of the love and support provided by her family and friends.

Special thank you also to the ALS Organization for the equipment and support that gave her the tools to maintain some forms of independence. The family would also like to thank the many aides, nurses, and staff from LECOM Home Care, VNA of Erie County, and at the Regency for the care, kindness and patience they provided.
