Barbara Ann Haynes

Barbara Ann Haynes, age 83, of Erie, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at Brevillier Village.

She was born in Vandling, PA on March 17, 1940, a daughter of the late Anthony & Felicia Scepura Matos. She worked at Quality Market in the deli and bakery, but her most important job was wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, walking, camping, cooking, crafts, shopping and long rides. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. We believe she was one of the most selfless and giving souls that lived on Earth.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Fred Haynes, in laws Fred & Lillian Haynes Sr, and her nephew Thomas Matos Jr.

She is survived by her children: James, Stephen (Cindy), and Paul Haynes (Carrie), Michele Holmes (Michael) and Deanne Roehm (Craig), all of Erie; a grand-daughter, Kel Karpinski. She is further survived by her siblings Carol Wolff, Beverly Upton of CA, and Thomas Matos of Erie and her best friend, Carol Ewiak.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc. Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd. Erie PA, 16510 on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and are invited to attend a service there Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
