Barbara Charles

Barbara Yeager Charles, age 86, of Erie, passed away on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Brevillier Village.

She was born in Erie, PA on December 29^th, 1936, the daughter of the late Margaret Mulderick and Albert E. Yeager.

 She graduated from St. Joseph’s School, Class of 1950, AcademyHigh School, Class of 1954 and St. Vincent School of Nursing, Class of 1957.  She retired from St. VincentHealthCenter – Rehabilitation Department, in 1995 as a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses and the Irish Cultural Society.  She was an avid quilter, sewer, and reader.  She was proud of her Irish Heritage and enjoyed three trips to Ireland. She also enjoyed her 13 winters in Florida with her husband.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband E. Joseph Charles, and her two sisters, Marilyn Hayden and Valerie Lex. She is survived by her son, David Charles and wife Ruela, her daughters, Michelle Bozich and husband Anthony, Mary Beth Thompson and husband John and Patricia Watson and husband Mark, and her sister Peggy Pober and husband Dick.  She is further survived by 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1531 East Grandview Boulevard, Erie, on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10 a.m.

Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank, 1507 Grimm Drive, Erie, PA 16501.
