Ashton Kahle Schettler, age 29, born on December 30, 1988 passed away on Monday October 22, 2018 at UPMC Hamot. He is the son of Theodore K. Schettler and Sherrie E. Neely, both of Erie.
Ashton attended McDowell High School and was a talented musician playing drums, guitar, and keyboards. He once had his own band called Chemical Trancendence and additionally enjoyed going to open mike nights at various clubs to play. He wrote some of his own music which can be heard on Soundcloud.com listed under Ashton Kahle. His favorite musician was Elliott Smith.
Ashton had many interests and talents, in addition to being an artist he enjoyed video games, card games, Dungeons & Dragons, Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Star Wars, and his favorite TV show was Super Natural. He certainly loved hanging out with his friends and family.
He loved nature; hiking, being at the gorge, skateboarding and snowboarding, his favorite season was winter. Ashton was a great navigator and loved adventures. He also loved his cats Kali and Aria.
He is preceded in death by his twin sister Ashley Elizabeth, his maternal grandparents Richard and Lois Neely, paternal grandparents Leo and Oma Schettler along with his favorite aunt, Kathy.
Survivors include his loving parents Ted and Sherrie, sister Daphne Schettler, brother Kahle Schettler, Judy Leone, grandparents Bob and Mary Lou Karney, Rob, Lisa, Darrell, Jonah and Sophie Karney, Jon MacNabb and many more cousins. He is further survived by aunts Becky Tapscott, Bonnie Neely, Karen Surdy, Holly and Marty Forsythe, Traci and Jon Mittlesteadt, Barb and Elliott Stroul, Ginny Edwards, Pat Organsky, Joyce Schettler. Uncles Bob and Shirley Shettler, Jim and Darlene Schettler and his closest friends Frances Lavelle and Saegan Baker.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA 16510 on Saturday October 27th from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm until the time of sharing at 8 pm. which will be led by Rob Karney.
Private inurnment will take place at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family in care of Burton Funeral Home.
