Antonio Taylor, age 62, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at UPMC Hamot following a lengthy illness.
He was born May 6, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana, a son of the late Clabe Taylor II, of Lake Providence, Louisiana, and Carrie Mae Mathews, of Sandusky, Ohio.
He lived in Ohio most of his life, and then became a resident of Erie, PA. Antonio served in the National Guard. He worked with the local food banks and homeless shelters in the community.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tyrone Taylor and twin brother, Antoine Taylor; and sister, Joan (Kitty) Mizzell.
Survivors include his two sons, Keith Taylor and Tyron Riley, of Sandusky Ohio; two brothers, Clabe Taylor II (Conjetta), of Norwalk, Ohio and Sterling Mathews (Morlanda), of Erie, PA; a sister, Imelda Mathews, of Sandusky, Ohio, special sister-in-law, Dannette Hawthorne, of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sharnell Shepherd, who he cherished.
