Antoinette “Toni” (Marano) Riazzi, age 83, of Erie passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 28, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Toni was born June 16, 1932, the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Jenco) Marano. Toni had lived in North East until 1941 when she moved to Erie to spend the rest of her life. She was a 1950 graduate of Strong Vincent High School.
Toni was married to Nick Riazzi for 51 wonderful years until his death in 2004. Besides being primarily a homemaker, and a wonderful wife and mother, she worked at Security Peoples Trust, Miller’s Department Store, First National Bank Operations Center and volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, their Rosary Altar Society, and took part in Cursillo # 139.
Besides her husband and parents, Toni was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Marano, and her in-laws, Orlando and Vera (Navecky) Riazzi.
Toni is survived by a sister, Connie Andrzejewski; five children, Mary Kay Torok and her husband Doug, Nick Riazzi Jr. and his wife Mary; Rachelle Pickwick and her husband David of Cleveland, OH; Carol Russell and her husband Scott, and Jeanne Stevens and her husband Tim. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Danielle, Lynn, Jordan, Lianne, Christopher, Emily, Jesse, and Maggie along with three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Landon, and Dylan.
Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St. on Friday from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Saturday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Private burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
