Anthony Justin “AJ” Weary age 30, of Erie passed on into eternal life on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 with the love of his life Lindsey, his parents, sister, and brother in law by his side following unforeseen circumstances. He was born in Erie on November 2, 1991 a son of Anthony and Deborah Weary of Erie.
AJ was a 2010 graduate of McDowell High School. After 10 years on the football field, he finished his lineman career excelling as a Trojan. His love for football continued beyond playing, as he was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.
He was employed as a machinist at Accuride Erie, where he was known as a reliable and hardworking employee. Prior, he had worked at Erie Bolt and Arby’s for over 10 years, where he created a work family and inspired all.
AJ greatly enjoyed gaming, singing, playing music and attending festivals. He had a passion for the outdoors, especially when it came to camping, hiking, kayaking, and shooting. He found joy in grilling and cooking with his son. He amazed those around him with his unique talent of spinning poi and fire. AJ was an animal lover but none compared to his faithful german shepherd, Jax.
AJ was a humble, calm, patient, selfless, and caring man which made him the most loving son, brother, fiancé, father, uncle, and friend. His quick wit and humor brought laughter to his family and attracted new friends wherever he went. He was always the first to lend a helping hand in any capacity.
AJ met his soulmate Lindsey Millet in 2019 where they talked all night and quickly realized they found their person. Their bond was evident to those around them. It was obvious that fate had brought them together. His quiet strength supported her dreams and her spirit nourished his soul.
To know him was to love him.
He was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Pearle Lapham and his two golden retrievers, Rusty and Rocky.
AJ is survived by his parents, Anthony and Deborah Weary; his fiancé, Lindsey Millet; his son, Jacob Palmer; a sister Autumn Burroughs (Jeremy); his niece and nephews, Owen, Everlie, and Jeremy Jr.; grandmother, Patricia “Nanny” Bretz; his aunts, Sheryl Bretz and Ashley Robbins (Justin), his beloved German Shepard, Jax and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends that were family.
Friends may join the family at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Thursday, October 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 Also, all are invited to attend a service there on Friday, October 14th at 11:00 am. Burial to follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
