Anthony “Tony” Lee of Millcreek passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 23, 2015 after a brief but courageous battle against cancer.
Born on August 13, 1945 in Tianjin, China, Tony and his family moved to New York City with aspirations of success. After settling in Erie in 1975, he and his family opened their first of several establishments, Peking Restaurant on 12th Street. Tony had a great work ethic, loved life, his family and was an avid car enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kau-Wing and Man-Ying Lee, his in-laws Yuen Chuen and Lai Ming Hui Ng, his brother-in-law, Po Cheung Fung, his nephew, Simon Fung and niece, Victoria Klemm.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Shirley, children William of San Francisco, Vincent of Seattle, Natalie and son-in-law Jason Loucks of Belgium, granddaughters Isabella and Aurora of Seattle. Sisters Hon Ying Li Fung of Millcreek, Melinda Lee and husband Warren Keung of Orlando, Rita and husband Wan Jih Chunn of Williamsville, Amy and husband Christopher Chi of Gaithersburg, Robert and wife Lynn Lee of Millcreek. Nieces and nephews Jeanie Chunn and husband Steven Dold, Jamie Fung, Tammy and husband Stephen Mitchell, Jennifer Chunn, Nicholas and wife Jenn Chi, Timothy Lee, Andrew Chi, Michael Chi, Patrick Lee, Tyler Chi and Alexander Lee. Grand nephews and nieces Jarod Mellesh, Bella Dold, Luna Piper, Aden Mitchell, Madeline Mitchell and Evelyn Chi.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, July 30 from 5-9pm at Capers on 2743 East 38th Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org <http://www.pancan.org> or at the Celebration where the proceeds will go to the UPMC Medical and Health Sciences Foundation, GI Oncology Unit.
