Anthony Chris Curcio, age 69 of Erie, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022 with his wife, Gayle by his side. He was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Louis and Katherine Sayers Curcio.
Chris enjoyed a four decade career at the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Center (BNI) from 1975 to 2018 when he retired. He held many top level positions affecting change and world class services to special individuals. He mentored many staff to take on future leadership positions.
Chris was known for his excellent writing skills, management and planning talents when he served as Director of Residential Services, Quality Management, Corporate Compliance and most recently, Director of Staff Education and Training.
Chris also held specialization in Behavior Management and worked with adults on life skills during his early work years.
He worked on many successful projects, campaigns and events for the center and co-authored Touching Lives with Dr. Gertrude Barber.
Chris will most likely be remembered as an individual who always had the mission of the center foremost in his mind.
In addition to his parents, Chris will join his beloved, beautiful daughter, Noelle Gerard who passed in 2004 and his sister, Karen Sica.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Curcio; sisters Barbara Boser and Mrs Betsey Stayer as well as his nieces and nephews, Bob Boser (Sarah), Mary Boser, Jeff Boser, Lisa Miller (Phil), Kristen Hudnall (Kris), Kylie Nimeth (Jeremy) and many great- nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at LECOM Schaper, for their loving, caring service.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services and burial will be private
