Annette Komisarski

October 19, 1942 — July 15, 2021

Annette C. Komisarski, age 78, of Girard, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 15, 2021.  She was born in Erie on October 19, 1942, oldest daughter of eight children born to the late Walter and Kathrine Bauer Badders.

She graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1960 where she went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Joe.  Over the years she worked in various jobs, most notably many years alongside her sister Connie and Steve Gutting at the Girard and Albion Erie Insurance Offices; working at a hospital Imaging Center and managing a card store during their twelve years in Florida; and most recently retiring from Burton Funeral Home Girard, where she continued on assisting with Soul Survivors Grief Support Group.

Annette was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard, PA.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband where they lived and spent time in Florida; visiting Colonial Williamsburg and marveling at the scenery of the Shenandoah Valley together.  Annette was a wonderful homemaker to her family and made every house she lived in, a wonderful home.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and was an accomplished seamstress, making many of her daughter’s favorite childhood outfits and hand stitching beautiful Christmas stockings for each of her six grandchildren.  She loved shopping trips and girls night with her three daughters.  She especially loved going out to dinner with her husband on their weekly dates.

In addition to her parents, Annette was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Peters, Barbara Santillo and Connie Palmer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph Komisarski: three daughters, Karen (Matt) Schnaekel, Kathleen (Jeff) Stubbe and Holly (Paul) MacKenzie; her six grandchildren, Colleen, Cathleen and Matthew Schnaekel, Jeffrey Stablein, and John and Luke MacKenzie. She is further survived by her brothers, Marty (Linda) Badders, Bill (Sue) Badders and David (Karen) Badders; her sister, Christine Badders; brothers-in-law, Gary Santillo and Herb Palmer; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and lifelong friends.

Annette’s family would like to thank the VNA Hospice for their loving care for the past seven months, specifically Kate, Dawn and Leslie. You are all very special.
