Annette Hoke, age 103, of Erie, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. Born in Cincinnati, OH, on February 15, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Charles Taylor and Bessie Allen Handman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice J. Hoke, in 1997.
In her college years, Annette was a student of modern dance and graduated from the University of Cincinnati, with a degree in elementary education. Mrs. Hoke and her husband lived in Warren from 1962 to 1994. While there, she did volunteer work with the Warren General Hospital, Hospice of Warren County and the First United Methodist Church. She and her husband moved to Erie in 1994, where she was a member of McKean United Methodist Church and a volunteer with the Ophelia Project and the Neighborhood Art House.
Survivors include two daughters, Eleanor H. Klauminzer, of Gig Harbor, WA, and Marilyn H. Hyslop and her husband, Michael, of Cincinnati, OH. Annette is further survived by four grandchildren, Guy W. and Scott A. Klauminzer, Zachary Boerger and Lucia Risk as well as four great grandchildren, Cleo and Makin Klauminzer, Simon Boerger and Charlie Risk.
Services and burial will be held at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th St. Erie, PA.
