Anne Gent

Anne C. Gent, age 65, of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of Erie, passed away on August 29, 2014 in Indianapolis.

Anne was born on June 27, 1949, in Erie, PA to John and Emily (O’Brien) Gent.

She was a graduate of Mercyhurst High School in 1967, and graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in history in 1971. Anne also received masters degrees from Indiana University in library sciences and in accounting.

Anne taught school and was a school librarian, prior to becoming a CPA and a financial manager.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Emily Gent. She is survived by her loving partner, Dean Mellinger; her siblings John Gent, Cathleen Gent (Fran Huntoon), Joan Gent Bilharz (Robert Bilharz), and David Gent (Wendy Gent); nephew Stephan Bilharz and niece Betsy Bilharz.

She was a dear and loyal friend to many and will be missed by all.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 W. 10th Street, on Friday, October 3rd, from 4 PM-6 PM. A private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, October 4th.
