Anna Tomasello Scrofano age 88, of Erie, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.
She was born in Catania, Sicily on January 10, 1926 a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Grazia Augello Tomasello.
She attended school in Sicily and came to America in December of 1956 with her three children.
She was a seamstress by trade.
She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church.
Anna was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always cared more for others than herself. Her greatest joy was her family, and she loved sewing and cooking her amazing homemade dishes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Scrofano.
She is survived by three children, Gaetana Taylor and her husband Al of Erie; Salvatore Scrofano of Erie, and Donato Scrofano and his wife Lynne of Myrtle Beach; seven grandchildren, April, Jeffrey, Eric, Timothy, Gabrielle, Nicole and Brianna; six great grandchildren; four sisters and 1 brother all living in Italy and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 W 26th Street (at Powell Ave) on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. David Renne officiating.
Burial will be private in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
