Ann Schultz

August 22, 1960 — May 26, 2022

Ann Elizabeth (Clifton) Schultz, age 61, of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022. In addition to her husband Richard, Ann is survived by her son Derek Schultz; her daughter Ali Schultz; her brother John Clifton (Mary Beth); and her nephew Mitch Clifton.

Ann was born on Monday, August 22, 1960, in Erie, Pennsylvania.  A daughter of the late Edward Irving and Mary Lou (Healy) Clifton, Ann was a 1978 graduate of Fairview High School. After high school, Ann graduated from Syracuse University in 1982. There, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree focusing on ceramics and metalsmithing. After college, Ann utilized her fine arts degree when she simultaneously managed multiple department stores for Lazarus – the leading retail department store in Erie at that time. Ann always loved visual arts and merchandising. Any store that Ann managed was guaranteed to be visually stunning.  After she had her second child, Ali, Ann left the retail sector to focus all her time, effort, and love on raising her two children, Derek and Ali. She considered them to be her “greatest masterpieces” – a testament to her profound love and devotion.

Ann’s belief that “knowledge is power” was something she instilled in her children and anyone that was fortunate enough to be around her. She strengthened this core value when she obtained her Master of Education degree from Edinboro University in 2012. Ann wanted to ensure that the next generation of children felt valued and understood the power of education. Thereafter, Ann returned to the retail sector as the store manager of Kirkland’s. Ann transformed that store through her meticulous attention to detail. Ann’s stores created a breathtaking visual experience that was felt by anyone who set foot in her stores.

Ann had a soft spot for large-breed dogs, especially her own Charlie (Siberian Husky), Atlas (Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute mix), and Inde (Bernese Mountain Dog). She loved creating botanical artworks and cherished the beauty of nature. Ann spent the last three years in a tenacious battle against cancer. Throughout this courageous fight, her character, resilience, and wit shined through. She will be greatly missed by all.
