“DEVOTED WIFE, MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER”

Anita K. Campeau, age 95, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died peacefully at home on Saturday, December 26, 2015. She will be greatly missed by each member of her family.

Anita was the only daughter of Herbert and Ada Smith of Kentucky. She was raised in Highland Park, Michigan, lived in Ferndale and Royal Oak, Michigan. Most of her married life was lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and her later years in Erie, PA.

Anita loved being with her family, her daughter, son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great grand daughters. She was an excellent listener and gave wise counsel. She loved to watch the old movies and talked about the old stars as if they were her neighbors. Anita greatly missed her parents and friends of her younger life and talked about them frequently. Anita had life time friendships which she maintained via the telephone and cell phone. She was a very caring, devoted person to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother and her husband, Fredrick P. Campeau, and also her brother, Jack O Smith.

She is survived by her daughter and care-taker, Judith L. Campeau of Erie, her son Frederick M. Campeau and his wife Michelle of Chicago, IL, grandchildren, Rachel L. Green and her husband Jeremy and Matthew R. Jeglinski and his wife Lindsay. Additional survivors are her four great granddaughters, Lauren, Abigail, Gabriella and Mya, as well as her great grandson Carson. .

Services will be held private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the care of the Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 602 W 10th Street, Erie, PA 16502.
