Angel Adrover Sanabria, age 86, of Erie, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family, on June 13, 2017. He was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on November 15, 1930, a son of the late Tomas Adrover and Gertrudis Sanabria.
Angel was a member of Saint Stephen’s Catholic Church and was employed by Zurn Industries where he worked in the General Air Division until his retirement in 1989. He was a master of all trades including painting, building, wood working, plumbing, electrical wiring and gardening. Angel loved music, dancing and visits to Presque Isle and above all, loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by eight siblings, Luis, Tomas, Jose, Juan, Damian, Bartolo, Antonio and Lidia Adrover.
Angel is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Maria Colazzo Sanabria. He is further survived by three children; Gladys Cruz (William), Luis Adrover, Annie Adrover, all of Erie, PA, as well as ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his two sisters, Carmen Ana and Rosa Nereida.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Angel’s caretakers, Lizzette Cruz, Jose Adrover, Nina Adrover and his number one nurse, Jodi Vargo.
Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510 on Friday, June 16, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and are invited to a funeral mass on Saturday, June 17th at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen of Hungary/Iglesia De San Esteban Catholic Church, 1237 W. 21st Street, Erie, PA 16502 with Pastor Jorge C. Villegas, presiding. Burial will follow at Saint Gregory Catholic Cemetery, Rt. 20 W. Main Rd., North East, PA.
