Andrew Vallimont

Andrew J. Vallimont, age 52, of Fairview, passed away, Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Erie on November 12, 1963, the son of Donald and Sarah (Gehringer) Vallimont.

Andy graduated from St. Boniface School in 1978 and Mercyhurst Prep in 1982. He was employed as work leader in the silicon department at Lord Corporation for 15 years. Andy was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He was also a member of St. Boniface Church and the Knights of Columbus.

His hobbies included gardening and watching the Cooking and History Channels. He loved the Miami Dolphins and cars. Andy had a love of nature and animals, especially, his fur babies, Molly and Lucy. He will be remembered for being a hard worker and always being there to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his parents, Andy is survived by his wife Andrea “Andy” Henschen Vallimont; his sisters: Margy (Gary) Luniewski of Harborcreek, Patricia White and Maricarol (Timothy) Schoenfeldt, both of North East, PA; his brother Howard (Melissa), of Atlanta, GA. He is further survived by his wife, Andrea’s family, her mother, Jane Henschen; her sisters, Hope (Jim) Hartwig and Beth Ann (Kurt) Coyne and her brother, Terry Henschen. Andy leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

.Friends may call at Burton’s Wintergreen Funeral Home, 2532 Norcross Rd. at Koehler Rd, on Thursday from 4-7 pm and on Friday from 1-3 pm and from 5-7 pm. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 9367 Wattsburg Rd.with Rev. Marc Stockton and Rev. Leo Gallina Co-Celebrants. Burial will be in Mt. Olives Cemetery.
