Amy S. Hunt, age 61, of Waterford, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, on January 13, 2016 following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Greenville, PA on December 31, 1954, a daughter of Lois Anne (Allen) Elston and the late Roger Earl Elston.
Amy was a 1973 graduate from Ashtabula High School. She was an avid animal lover who loved her pets and wildlife. She was also known as the dog lady of Townhall Road because of her devoted walking with her dogs. She was a voracious reader and also enjoyed gardening throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall.
In addition to her father, Amy was preceded in death by her very dear friend, Victoria Lee Scott.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Chris Hunt of 37 years, a daughter, Vikkie (Paul) Silva of Erie, a son, Jason Hunt of Waterford, a granddaughter, Kaylee Hunt and four siblings, Dr. Thomas Elston of California, Marcia (James) Males of Oregon, Nancy (Phil) Anderson of Ohio, David (Robert) Elston-Pollock of Massachusetts. Many cousins, nieces and nephews and her beloved pets also survive.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avenue,) on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service there at 12 p.m. with Dr. James Rimmer officiating.
The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses from the Regional Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Amy.
