Alvin Sterling

Alvin J Sterling, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Cranesville, Pa on March 21, 1949, the son of the late Ralph & Arlene Sterling.

Alvin lived in Erie County most of his life. He enjoyed riding motorcycles when he was younger and he was an avid book reader, particularly the western genre. His greatest love though was for the game of pool, he played in many different leagues and tournaments and the one he was most proud of was held in Las Vegas.

He was proceeded in death by his lifetime love Jean Hagerty; his Grandson Ethan McCoy; his parents  Ralph & Arlene (Trafton-Bunker) Sterling and siblings; Gail Sterling, Joyce Brown, Pearl Sterling, Norman Sterling, Florence Sterling, Virginia Skurnog , Edwin Sterling, Shirley Hale, and Barb Andrews.

He is survived by his daughter Jennifer (Dan) McCoy; his son Thomas Sterling; grandchildren Kailyn and Owen McCoy, Leann and Brandon Sterling, and Storie Williams; his great grandchildren Russel and Olivia Sterling, Elizabeth Smith and his siblings Merle(Ruth) Sterling, Janice Shaw, Jean(John) Lehman, Darlene Munshower,  and Phyllis Boyle.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Tuesday, November 23 from 6pm-8pm and on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service at 11am.  Burial to follow at Hope Cemetery.
