Almon Peterson

Almon R. “Butch” Peterson age 73 of Fairview, was carried home by our Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2018.

He was born on February 27, 1944 in Corry, PA a son of the late Almon R. and Margaret Mary DeBarr Peterson.

Butch attended Wattsburg Area High School and had been the head of maintenance at Fairview Evergreen Nursery for many years until his retirement in 2006. He loved woodworking and horses. Butch was a simple guy and was known in his travels by his cowboy hat. He also enjoyed fishing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Almon Peterson III at birth; a brother, Charles Peterson and a sister, Doris Hubler.

Butch is survived by his wife of 21 years, Susan Hetz; a son Eric Peterson and his wife Dawnlynn; a step son Michael Wassink; two sisters: Deloris Svetz, and Nancy White; three brothers: Carl Peterson, Rodger (Yvonne) Peterson  and Rollin (Cheryl) Peterson; six grandchildren: James, Jessica, Cindy, Rachel, Sarah, and Leif Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. Girard on Saturday from 1pm until the time of the service at 4pm. with Rev. Jack Tickle officiating. Burial at a later date in Fairview Cemetery.
