Alice Anne Hollinger Brown

Alice Anne Hollinger Brown age 71, Erie, died Thursday, August 15, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital.

She was born in Erie, on February 11th, 1953, the daughter of the late Marjorie Anne Gallagher Gallo Hollinger and Henry G. Hollinger.

Alice was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School, class of 1971. She worked several jobs, with her favorite being PieceGoods/ Mae’s a fabric and craft store. Alice loved making stuffed dolls, clothes, and animals; floral arrangements and wreaths. Her most noted talent was knitting afghans for special people she knew, and dozens of needy kids ages 2-18 for the Linus Project. Alice had a special love for her grandchildren, and cats.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Gayle Alice Brown in 1978.

She is survived by her husband G. Dudley Brown, Jr.; her daughters Erin Brown PharmD residing in Pittsburgh, PA, and Barbie Grande and husband Michael of Erie. Alice is survived by her brother Henry E. Hollinger and wife Kim and her grandsons Roland, Rocco and Rory Grande. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews, and her three cats Oreyo, Tuxie, and Mr. T.

Following Alice’s wishes, there will be no services. Private arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th Street, Erie.
