Alfred Dixon

Alfred Dixon, age 65, of Erie, transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, July 28, 2016. Alfred was born in Vicksburg, MS on January 4, 1951, to the late Curtis Dixon and Clara Mae Matthews.

He was a member of Post 700 and loved the blues, fishing and playing cards. Alfred was a good looking man who loved his family and was dedicated to his job at General Electric, where he retired in 2009 after 38 years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters Patricia Manus and Rosie Dixon as well as his son, Alfred J. Dixon in 2014.

Alfred leaves to cherish in memory, his wife, Deborah Dixon: daughter, Brittany Dixon; son, Willie Carter Dixon; brothers, Curtis, Willie (Thenia) and Robert (Louise) Dixon; grandsons, Da’Khyrion Johnson, Vincent Dixon, and Yosalyn Dixon; sisters, Ernestine Dixon-Palmer (Ron), Dorothy Pope, Q.C. and Carolyn Dixon; special niece, Tasha Gaines and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc, 602 W. 10th St. on Saturday, August 6th from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. with Bishop Clint Roberts presiding. Interment will be at Erie Cemetery.
