Alexandra Slonimskay, 89, passed away on the morning of December 14, 2015 at St. Vincent Medical
Center. She was born in Milatopil, Ukraine on August 10, 1926. In the former Soviet Union she received a
medical degree and worked as a pediatrician. After retirement she immigrated to Israel with her beloved
husband Josef Peysakhovich, where she lived for seven years. Ultimately, she joined her family in America 19
years ago. She never stopped learning the English language or the American culture. She is survived
by her loving son, Semeyon Peysakhovich, his wife, Luba Peysakhovich, her granddaughter Sofya
Peysakhovich Borchard, her husband Thomas Borchard, and her great-granddaughter, Isabella Borchard, as
well as two nieces in Israel. She is predeceased by her beloved Josef and her only sister Nina Vinikavay.
Friends are invited to services at the Burton Funeral Home 602 West 10th Street on Wednesday at 1p.m. with
Rabbi Emily Luben-Ostrov.
Burial will follow in Anshe Hesed Cemetery.
