Albert Jacob Sonntag

September 9, 1934 — June 8, 2024

Albert Jacob Sonntag, age 89, formerly of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence in Mentor, OH on June 8, 2024. He was born in Erie, September 9, 1934, son of the late Jacob and Mary E. Keller Sonntag.

Al was a 1952 graduate of Academy High School and owned and operated a Al Sonntag’s Barber Shop in Erie for over 50 years. In addition to his work as a barber, Al worked as a realtor for Knobloch Real Estate, Pro Realty and Remax. He was a devout member of Sacred Heart Church for many years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Eller Sonntag, a sister, Mary Jean Sonntag, stepson Timothy M. Sinnott and son-in-law Keith Brocious.

Al is survived by many family members and loved ones.

Services were private and Al was laid to rest in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the care of Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie.
