Alan Soffa

Alan Soffa age 63, of Waterford, Pa., died Monday, November 17, 2014 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on October 15, 1951, a son of the late William and Ann Marie Vavro Soffa.

He was a graduate of West Mifflin High School and then received a degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

Alan worked in banking for many years with National City Bank.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and loved fishing.

Along with his wife Sally, Alan is survived by one daughter, Alanna of Erie; three sons: William, Mychal and Alex all of Erie; two grandchildren: Jasmine and Jayden; two brothers: William Soffa, wife Mary Lou of Charlottesville, VA and Thomas P. Soffa of Meadville; four stepchildren: Travis Sidelinger, wife Jessica, Gregory Sidelinger, wife Shannon, all of Grove City, OH; Melanie Knowlton, husband Keith of Girard, PA; Shawn Sidelinger, wife Emily of York, PA; six step grandchildren, and many cousins and friends.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West Tenth Street, Erie, Pa. 16502 on Wednesday from 11:00 pm until a time of service there at 1:00 pm.
