Alan D. Hartley, age 57, of Fairview, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born in Erie on May 4, 1959. A son of the late Frank D. and Patricia Rodenbeck Hartley.
He was a 1978 graduate of Fairview High School. He had several electrical contractor licenses and was a licensed master electrician in the City of Erie.
Al had worked for Church and Murdock Electric Inc. in Erie as an electrical estimator for 15 years.
He was a Member of the Sons of the American Legions at Fairview Post 742 and Girard Post 494 He loved his tractors and his Dodge Ram pickup. He enjoyed RV camping with his family and enjoyed Jamboree in the Hills. He enjoyed riding recreational vehicles and he’ll be sadly missed by his cat “Franklin”.
Alan is survived by his wife of 35 years, Michelle Glover Hartley; a son, Douglas Hartley and his wife Billie Ann; and daughters; Kelley Ann and Brittany Elizabeth Hartley, all of Fairview; his brother, Daniel Hartley and his wife Valerie of Fairview. He is further survived by his nephews, Cory, Cody and Cameron Hartley; and his uncle Harry Rodenbeck and his wife Betty of Girard; Several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many others, whom he called his children.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St. East, Girard on Saturday and Sunday from 3 to 7pm. and are invited to attend a service there on Monday at 11am.
Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
