Agnes Robinson

Agnes "Nancy" Robertson Robinson age 79, of Erie passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at UPMC Hamot.

Nancy was born in Glasgow, Scotland on March 11, 1934, the eldest daughter of the late William James and Mary Alison Guthrie.

In Glasgow, Nancy worked in Social Services and retail, before emigrating to Canada in 1957. She settled in Trenton, Ontario where Nancy met her husband to be; Geoffrey Charles Robinson, an engineer at Erie Resistor Canada, where she also worked. They were married in December 1957.

Nancy and Geoffrey relocated to the Erie area with their three children in 1969. In Erie, Nancy obtained her Real Estate license, working with Lloyd White Realty, and later Crandell & Associates Realtors. Upon retirement, Nancy and Geoff moved to Estero, Florida where they enjoyed tennis and golf with an international group of new found friends, and volunteering at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary as trail and photo guides. In 2011 Nancy and Geoff returned to Erie to reside at Springhill Senior Community.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband of over 55 years, Geoffrey Charles Robinson, her mother, Mary Alison Guthrie (nee Duff), and her father, William James Guthrie.

Nancy is lovingly remembered by her two sons, David Robinson and his wife, Barbara and daughter, Alice of Jersey City, NJ, and Brian Robinson and his wife Janet and their children Page, Graham and Reid of Seattle, WA; a daughter Lynn Lewis (nee Robinson) and her husband Timothy and their daughters Ashley and Heather of Erie, PA; a sister, Florence and her husband Jack Williamson of Bedfordshire, England; brother Reverend James Guthrie and his wife Patricia of Pinwherry, Scotland; a sister, Isabel and her husband Bob McCormick of Lancaster England; a sister, Alice Forshaw of Ayrshire, Scotland; and brother, Bruce Guthrie and his wife Claudette of London, Ontario, Canada, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at a date to be announced to allow for overseas relatives.
