Agnes Ebert

February 17, 1922 — January 20, 2012

Agnes V. Bessetti Ebert, age 89, of Millcreek Township, passed away peacefully at Manchester Presbyterian Lodge on Friday, January 20, 2012.

She was born in Strattonville, PA on February 17, 1922 a daughter of the late Joseph and

Alice Boyd Bessetti. She married Earl G. Ebert on November 26, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1994

She and her late husband owned and operated the Lawrence Park Dry Cleaners and the Lake City Dry Cleaners. They later owned Ebert's Greens of Erie where they produced Christmas roping and wreaths for florists and residential customers for 36 years.

Agnes was a member of the Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Erie.

She enjoyed crafts, time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and had a love of animals. Family and friends were always welcomed into her home where she shared her love through excellent meals and amazing desserts.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Thomas and Richard Bessetti and nine sisters, Ruth Thompson, Beulah Shafer, Dorothy Bard, Betty Webster-Smith, Susan Burger Smith, Pearl Tullio, Mary Burton, Bessie Jodon and Minnie McDivit. She was the last of her generation.

She is survived by two daughters: Alice Ebert Mountjoy (Don) of Erie and

Aimee Cromarty (Neal) of Boalsburg, PA and a son Earl G. Ebert of Erie

She was the beloved Nana to four grandchildren: Deborah Mountjoy Roberts, Katherine Mountjoy Cioffi, Chloe Cromarty and Joshuah E. Ebert, and five great grandchildren: Jordan and Zachary Roberts and Max, Nick, and Alexis Cioffi. Also surviving are a brother-in-law Joseph Tullio and sisters-in-law Bertelle Ebert and Madeline Mitton, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home 3801 West 26th Street on

Sunday from 2 to 5 and from 7 until a brief prayer service at 8pm with Reverend Patty Fuller. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you perform an act of kindness for someone in need. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505 or the Erie Humane Society 2707 Interchange Rd, Erie, PA 16506.
